How to Know that You’re Successful
Success is a term that means different things to different people. For some people it means being rich and holding a big position in a company. For others it simply means achieving important life goals. In my opinion success means happiness. I don’t mean the happiness that comes when you go to a party and drink some liquor. I mean the true happiness that comes when you get a feeling of inner peace. This happiness has 3 components: passion, love, goal achievement and the redefinition of wealth.
Most people aim to become big corporate executives who earn six figure salaries. However, the hard work that they have to put in to get to where they need to be is often something that takes them away from the true joy of life. There are some people who don’t mind this fact, but there are others who become bitter about it. Success is not about a six figure salary. Success is about doing what you love. It’s about being able to wake up in the morning and feel good about going to work because you enjoy what you do. It’s all about finding and living your passion.
The Redefinition of Wealth
This point is closely related to pursuing your passion. As I mentioned earlier, success is about doing what you love. It’s not about the six figure salary. Some people are really passionate about music, but very few people make it big in the music industry. However, it doesn’t mean that someone can’t make a decent living from pursuing this passion. As long as he or she is able to take care of his or her family then pursuing that passion is a worthwhile endeavour.
Wealth can, therefore, be redefined as being able to make a living doing what you love. It’s not necessarily about earning ten times more than your neighbor. It’s about being happy with what you do and being able to provide for your family and save a little money for the future. When you start viewing wealth in this light, you would be surprised by how you are better able to enjoy life. Some of the people with lots of money are some of the most unhappiest people. There is, therefore, no direct correlation between wealth and happiness.
There cannot be true success without love. Love is what makes life worth living. This love doesn’t have to be the love that comes from an intimate relationship. It can be the love that propels you to be kind to others or offer a helping hand to those in need. The success that comes from this love is a feeling of fulfillment from being able to contribute positively to the lives of others.
Goals are an important part of life. When your goals are in line with your passion then you are on the road towards true success. Take some time to think about 3 goals that you want to achieve that are related to your passion. Think about the steps that you need to take in order to achieve those goals. After you have put your thoughts together, do what is necessary to achieve those goals.
Success isn’t about wealth. It’s about being truly happy and content with life. When you are able to find your passion, set and accomplish goals related to that passion, and find ways to truly love others then you will be experiencing true success.
